The number of investors in Indonesia is expected to soon break through 3 million in line with the significant increase since the end of 2019. This optimism was conveyed by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) as numbers of Single Investor Identification (SID) that has reached 2.8 million in May 2020 or increased by 13% since the end of 2019. In more detail, from that SID number, 1.19 million of them are stock investors, which has also been rising 8% year to date (ytd).
Meanwhile, in terms of the listing on the Stock Exchange, IDX has also provided stimulus in the form of initial listing fees reduction by 50% for companies that will seek funding in the capital market. This is expected to increase the number of issuers where currently there are 21 companies that intend to list their shares on the stock exchange.
